Meet the volunteers who lead Wallkill Valley Little League
Ages 13-14 | Advanced Division
Juniors is a transitional level on a full-size 90-foot field that prepares players for high school baseball with more advanced rules and strategy. Players face stronger pitching, learn to play deeper defensive positions, and adjust to longer base paths and bigger gaps. This division emphasizes situational awareness, smart base running, and advanced team concepts to get athletes ready for high school and travel ball.
Ages 12-13 | Bridge Division
Intermediate (50/70) is for ages 12–13 and bridges the gap between Majors and Juniors. On this field, the pitcher’s mound is 50 feet from home plate and the bases are 70 feet apart (longer than Majors but shorter than a full-size 90-foot field), introducing players to a bigger field, leading off, and more advanced play while still following Little League rules.
Ages 11-12 | Core Little League Division
Major League is the flagship Little League division — the full baseball experience with live pitching, umpires, standings, and playoff competition. This is Little League as most people know it. At this level players continue to sharpen their skills and gain a deeper understanding of competitive baseball.
Ages 9-10 | Player Pitch
Minor League is the first division where kids pitch to each other in real game situations. Players develop real competitive skills — pitching, base running, fielding positions — while still keeping the focus on development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. They learn the rules, strategies, and pace of traditional baseball all in a supportive and instructional environment.
Ages 6-8 | Beginner Division
In Coach Pitch, a coach from the batting team pitches to their own players, transitioning from Tee Ball to player-pitched baseball. The focus is on hitting, fielding, building confidence at the plate, and keeping the game fun!
Ages 4 to 6 | Introductory Division
Tee Ball is where it all begins.
This non-competitive division focuses on teaching the basic fundamentals of baseball in a fun, low-pressure environment. Players learn how to hit off a stationary tee, field ground balls, and run the bases.
